Thankyou to everyone who turned up for a very succesful boat weekend 2009. Friday was a good social gathering for IRB crews in Wales. Saturday was started with technical demonstrations and tips from our Australian guest Peter Hallet, boats then hit the water for what was a very testing day with the strong onshore winds and big messy waves, well done to all drivers and crews for keeping the boats the correct way up, Sunday was a bright and sunny day which kicked off with a team photo followed by exams and more training in the water.

SLSA Wales would like to thank Peter Hallet and family for coming over and sharing knowledge about the boats and engines we use, also to Peter Lake for making Saturday night as enjoyable as it was.

Also SLSA Wales would like to recognise Warren Mitchell the father of the IRB for 40 years of service to the IRB, without Warren we would not be were we are today with this piece of rescue craft.

Any photos of the weekend please email to info@rescueboatwales.org

Wales IRB team traveled down to bournemouth to become European champions beating any other team that raced, results under the IRB champs 09 page.

Following the success of our Summer ‘Where is the IRB?’ Competition, SLSA Wales Powercraft is pleased to announce a further competition for the Autumn Nights of 2009. The new competition is called ‘Where is the Terry Edwards?’ Using your skills you have to study the photograph and place an ‘X’ in the spot where you think Terry should be. If you place the ‘X’ in the correct place you may approach Terry at your leisure and ask him to buy you a beer. PLEASE NOTE: This competition is only open to Over 18’s and blokes bigger than Terry.
